Agenda for 11 July Precinct Meeting

by Freospace on 10 July, 2013

Dear South Fremantle Precinct members

As you know we have a Precinct meeting at the Meeting Place tomorrow (Thursday) night at 7pm.

I have pulled together an agenda for the meeting below to get the ball rolling…

1. Our Precinct: What do you want our Precinct to focus its efforts on? Do you have ideas for how you want it to operate? What can you contribute to the work of the Precinct? What would make your neighbours (or you if you are not coming) want to come to a Precinct meeting?

2. Events: With the end of the Hubert St Sustainability Festival and the Kite Festival we only have the Lilly St Lasagne Bake left. Discuss ideas for creating new events (eg. Parmelia Park Pizza Piazza (a Community Picnic), a New South Beach Kite and Bike Festival and a South Terrace Fiesta with local traders).

3. Visioning: The Fremantle Council is running a Visioning process over the next nine months in order to produce a community vision which will provide direction for council priorities. As a Precinct we would like to begin discussions about our own version of visioning in South Fremantle eg. what do we want South Terrace to be (or not to be)? What do we want to see (or what can be done about) the Marine Terrace warehouses next door to Sealanes? What role do we see for Wilson Park?

4. Q&A with South Ward Councillor Jon Stratchan: Our friendly local Councillor will be on hand to discuss concerns and ideas you may have, and to generally add value to our discussions.

If you cannot make the meeting please leave you comments on our freospace page or send them to me directly.

I look forward to meeting you!
